Julia Young

General Nursery Manager

With over 25 years’ experience in various childcare settings I offer an exciting learning experience to everyone involved in Roseangle House Nursery.  Planning began for our Dundee branch in July 2013 and the outlook was very clear: a top quality care setting, offering a diverse variety of learning styles to encourage children to reach their full potential with good communication between parents, children and staff which is focused around the well-being of each individual child.  This ethos continues with our second venue which opened in conjunction with the University of St Andrews in March 2017.

This can be achieved by children who have the chance to explore their own learning, with carers and parents who offer variety, support and encouragement. I firmly believe that children should experience the joys of outdoor play and this in turn underpins their understanding of nature, discovery and responsibility. Each child will be involved in deciding their limit, and develop their skills at their own pace.

I have worked as a Registered Childminder, in local authority early years settings large and small. I also have one to one experience with additional support needs. Within these settings I have experienced lots of different practice and use this to nurture a happy, safe and inviting environment for children, parents and staff.

My vision for both settings is that we are able to care for children and their families from very young until they leave us to go to school which then provides the children the secure base for the rest of their lives.

I currently am mostly based in our Dundee setting but still peripatetically overseeing our two sites whilst our new manager in St Andrews settles in,  I am contactable via email at julia@roseanglehousenursery.co.uk

Ruth Rose

Deputy Manager (Dundee Branch)

I have an honours degree in Community Learning and Development and have been working with children and young people for over a decade.  I come from Northern Ireland and moved to Dundee to attend university, where I studied before meeting my husband. Since then I have decided to make Dundee my home.  I look forward to the challenges of my newly promoted post and am excited to be a part of the growth and development of Roseangle House Nursery.

I have recently (June 2016) completed an Special Educational Needs Advanced Diploma, Autism Awareness Diploma and Child Behaviour Diploma which can only enhance the support we are able to provide to the children in our care. I am currently investigating the next opportunity to further my education which will benefit my personal and professional development and performance, supported fully by the management team.

My knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence, Building the Ambition and Pre-Birth to Three have been invaluable as I now conduct all staff inductions.  I deal with the Child's placing allocation in our Dundee branch, so therefore please contact me by phone, facebook or email me ruth@roseanglehousenursery.co.uk

Laura Jackson

Office Manager

I have worked with Roseangle House Nursery since it opened in July 2014.  Prior to this I completed a degree in teaching.  Since I was employed here I completed a SVQ3 in Social Services, Children and Young People.  I worked directly with Julia, my manager, to provide the very high standard she expects of her staff.  After working with all the different age groups I have changed direction and am currently working within the office, assisting with the administration within the nursery.  I am soon to begin an accounting qualification.  I liaise between Julia, Ruth and Jill to provide the accurate information which will allow the smooth running of the nursery.  I am the person who deals with invoices and accounts, so please let me know by email laura@roseanglehousenursery.co.uk or telephone if your child is unwell or on holiday.

On a personal level I have a very nurturing nature and have pet hamsters and bunnies.
